Perplexity's crawler documentation describes no submission process. Its only guidance is that "to ensure your site appears in search results, we recommend allowing" PerplexityBot in robots.txt, and that changes can take up to 24 hours to register. OpenAI's crawler page is the same: allow OAI-SearchBot and it will index you; block it and you "will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers".
The closest thing to submitting
OpenAI names Bing as its third-party search provider, so Bing's index is the one you can push to directly.
- Verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools and submit your sitemap.
- Use IndexNow to tell Bing about new and changed URLs the moment you publish. It is a single request per URL, and this site sends one for every page it publishes.
- Allow OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot in robots.txt, and check your server logs or a crawler test to confirm they are reaching you.
Bing Webmaster Tools also has an AI Performance report, in public preview since February 2026, that counts citations of your pages in Copilot and Bing's AI summaries. It does not report ChatGPT, so it is a hint rather than a measurement for OpenAI's surfaces.
What submitting cannot do
Being indexed makes a page eligible. It does not make the page the one an assistant chooses. In our check on 2026-10-21, ChatGPT cited fewer than two sources per answer and preferred the platforms' own documentation; Perplexity cited ten per answer, mostly pages whose title matched the question. After the index, the work is the page.
