In our 25-question check on 2026-10-21, LinkedIn pages were cited 9 times across 7 questions. Google AI Overviews was responsible for 6 of those, Perplexity for 2 and Claude for 1. ChatGPT and Gemini cited no LinkedIn page.
What got cited were long posts and Pulse articles with the question in the title. For "How do I show up in Google AI Overviews for questions about my product?", AI Overviews cited a LinkedIn Pulse article titled as an eight-step guide to showing up in AI Overviews. For the llms.txt question, Perplexity cited a LinkedIn post about llms.txt and AI search. For the schema question, AI Overviews cited two LinkedIn posts in which people discussed whether chatbots read markup.
So LinkedIn is not a special channel. It is one more domain Google indexes, and a post there competes like any other page: it needs the question in the title and an answer in the first lines.
What to do
If you have an answer with evidence behind it, publish it twice. The page on your own site is the one Perplexity and Claude will cite. A LinkedIn article with the same title and a link back is the version Google's AI features may pick up, and it reaches the people who follow you either way. Do not post the question without the answer; the cited posts all answered it.
The sample is 25 questions about AI visibility on one day, a topic LinkedIn's audience writes about a lot. Questions about dentists or boilers would cite it less.
